Google Chrome Time Savings with “docs.new”

11/7/2018

Sometimes simple can make a big difference in Google Drive world. I stumbled on to this time-saving tool last week and already use it on a regular basis. The efficiency tool is pretty straightforward and slick. Simply enter “docs.new” in your browser and a new document is created in drive. Yes, that is slick.
The feature works with sheets, slides, forms, and sites too. You do need to be logged into your Google account for it to work directly to create a new document. If not, you will be directed to log in first.
You can use various forms of the trigger word before “.new”. Like doc.new, docs.new and document.new. The singular and plural forms of the major drive tools in front of “.new” initiates the process. Quick, easy and user friendly.
