My blogging motivation has great intentions, then it drops down on my priority list of things to do. In addition, I thought blog entries needed to be manuscript length and built on a solid content foundation. Of course that translated into longer entries to write and too long also for readers. As I reflect, we live in a busy world where trending topics are less than 140 characters.
So “My Time Saving Tools” is born today. I will keep the content to the point and user friendly. In addition, this will keep me engaged to sharing. I harvest so much great material from my PLN, I want to give back and “Share the Learning”. Screencastify Chrome Extension - Screencastify Website Screencastify is one of my favorite tools and I use it often. I use the free version, where I can record up to 10 minute long videos. This follows my lesson creation rule … if I can’t create it in less than 10 minutes and it is not sustainable over time, I don’t do it. There is a “Screencastify” watermark, but I hardly notice it now and I have never had anyone mention it. I started using camera mode to create video lesson plans for my substitute teacher. Then for vocabulary and concept notes for students that do better with a digital video lecture presentations. I use it for “How To” videos for lab, classroom activities and extension activities. Finally, Screencastify is so easy to use. I click on the extension, then select the desired video option and start recording. When done, it’s one click stop and the review table opens with an autoplay of my creation. I can delete and re-record, save to Google Drive or my local drive, as well as upload to YouTube. So slick and easy! I’m seeing my students use it for some of their work and collaborative projects. This is a great video tool! |
